Cartoon-Based Casual Game

Project overview

This is a casual mobile game based on a cartoon series that kids love. All the characters, voices, and scenes are borrowed from the cartoon. Nevertheless, to play the game, you don’t need to be familiar with it. The goal of the game is to feed the main character — a hungry cat — overcoming all the obstacles on his way.

What does the game offer?

• 6 worlds with 120 basic and 25 additional levels
• based on the cartoon series, so its fans will be in seventh heaven
• every level has an exciting puzzle gameplay
• suitable for all family members, just like the cartoon is

The client is an international financial company which has its own software development office.

Challenge

The client had a ready-to-use game mechanic where they needed to add all the game and design elements. The problem was that this game mechanic was written in an old version of Unity which resulted in a large number of bugs and an inability to implement the client’s requirements. Thus, we had to partially rewrite the existing functionality of the game mechanic.

Development process

The previous version was entirely developed using an old Unity version which made it necessary to rewrite a lot of modules to correspond to the new version. Every design element was reworked by our designers to the required format, as well as new elements were drawn from scratch.

Result

As a result, the entire design and game mechanics were reworked and adapted to the client’s requirements. The new design was tied to the game mechanics.

Finally, we got an exciting casual puzzle game that was rated 4.2 stars on Google Play and was downloaded 50,000+ times.
