Do not refinance with this company
I refinanced with Cardinal, and when we went through the refinance process last year, I told them that we need to pay special attention to my escrow amount. And that in my previous refinance (with a different mortgage company), I got a letter within a year stating that my escrow had been mis calculated and I owed them around $4,000. I told Cardinal this, and REALLY needed to have my escrow calculated correctly so I wouldnt be stuck with shortage in my escrow account later on. Lisa Cox my loan specialist assured me this wouldnt happen. But I just got a letter that the same thing has happened. The amount of $3,062.40 is being "Spread out" over 12 months increasing my payment by $255.20 per month. This is MORE than the amount I saved when refinancing and an increase of 10% of my mortgage payment each month.
In the end I am the one out money because they cannot manage my escrow. Also, they wont let me manage it. Stuck with a bill I tried desperately to avoid.
